Residential Shingle Roofing

There's no question that shingle roofing is the number one type of roof used on homes across the United States. The shingles we use are made from asphalt and they're certainly the most cost-effective option meeting the needs of homeowners in the Rochester area.

First used in 1901, asphalt shingles are widely used. Depending on the manufacturer, shingles come in two types:

  • Organic
  • Fiberglass

Organic shingles are built on a substrate of heavy felt, while fibreglass shingles have a foundation of non-woven glass fibres. This difference doesn’t sound like much, but it actually leads to substantially different performance, especially in particular situations.

Regardless of the type used by your contractor, asphalt shingles come in a wide range of colors and styles. Take a look at our roofing photo gallery to get a sense for what's available.

Noted for their ease of use and low cost, asphalt shingles continue to be popular due to their great look. No matter the architectural or style requirement, there is an asphalt shingle produced that will fit in very nicely.
