When a company like Apple introduces a new product, its marketing department usually does a great job creating buzz and excitement around the announcement. Among recent product announcements, the most significant for businesses related to art and design is the iPad Pro digital device. Apple’s press release has all the details of this product. We think the device is a great new tool for roofing contractors and others in the home improvement industry. We agree with Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of worldwide marketing, who described the new device as “thin and light enough to hold all day,” with a fast processor and capable of 3D design.
We think the 5 benefits for the roofing community of using the iPad Pro device are:
#1 – Visual Demos: The device has a 12.9-inch screen and “retina display with 5.6 million pixels,” which is great for roofing contractors to show clients previous work with a crystal clear picture. We expect that photos and product images will have greater clarity than in the past.
#2 – Sketch Designs: The iPad Pro works with the Apple Pencil, which can be used for sketching layouts and rough models to help your customers visualize the look and feel of a particular design.
#3 – Display Docs: If your business uses Microsoft Office products, you will have the ability to display documents such as pricing options and contracts to your customers in their homes to save both time and resources.
#4 – Laptop Replacement: This product solves the need to buy both a laptop and an iPad. Along with Apple’s new Smart Keyboard (purchased separately), a device this size could potentially replace the need for a laptop. Moving from job site to job site, the last thing you want is to be weighed down by heavy equipment. This device is incredibly light and slim.
#5 – Multi-tasking: Increased ability to multi-task with split-screen allows you to get more done at a quicker pace.
