ASPHALT SHINGLE ROOFING

There's no question that shingle roofing is the #1 type of roof used on homes in Rochester, New York and surrounding areas. The shingles we use are made from asphalt and they're certainly the most cost-effective option.

SHINGLE ROOFING BENEFITS:

  • Wide variety of dimensional styles, sizes, and thicknesses

  • Available in dozens of colors

  • Available with granules resistant to algae and fungus

  • Shingles are water repellent

  • Extremely durable and long-lasting

  • Fire rating meets any building code

  • Resistant to wind and hail

  • Extended labor and material warranties

First used in 1901, asphalt shingles are now widely used. Depending on the manufacturer, shingles come in two types:

  • Organic

  • Fiberglass

Organic shingles are built on a substrate of heavy felt, while fiberglass shingles have a foundation of non-woven glass fibers. This difference doesn’t sound like much, but it actually leads to substantially different performance, especially in particular situations. Regardless of the type used, asphalt shingles come in a wide range of colors and styles. Noted for their ease of use and low cost, asphalt shingles continue to be popular due to their great look. No matter the architecture or style requirement, there is an asphalt shingle that will fit in very nicely.
